Can I Install Gnome on Ubuntu Server?

Hi, after several years using redhat/fc and suse I
want to try ubuntu. Here 
my simple question:
I already instal LAMP using ubuntu server disk. Now I
want to install the 
gnome windows that come from ubuntu desktop cd, how to
do it?
