modprobe.d question

To support my buggy laptop LCD screen, I have to pass an option before X
starts. At the moment, I've added the line :
options nvidia NVreg_Mobile=0 NVreg_ModifyDeviceFiles=0
to /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-kernel-nkc
However, it appears it isn't soon enough - at start, gdm fails and I
have to login in a text console, and either use startx or kill gdm and
launch it again.
Does anyone knows how to make the file /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-kernel-nkc
used earlier at boot time? If it's not possible, where else could I add
the aforementioned line?
Thanks,
Loïc
