Ubuntu server package

Hello,

I probably spent 4 hours and twice as many burned CDs trying to get the
server install to properly work last night. Finally, I tried the alternate
full-install and that worked fine, and everything seems terrific now.

I was wondering if it there was a package I could un/install that would
allow me to do away with the base packages and just have the server
installation. If so, how could I go about activating that? (the package
name)
