which 802.11g Ethernet bridge to use?

I have a wireless setup using a ZyDAS USB 802.11b/g device. It is a real pain 
to setup, but works o.k. Every new version of the Ubuntu kernel breaks the 
setup for some reason.

Would you use a different USB device? like a game or ethernet bridge?

the game adapters and bridges seem to convert from a Ethernet port to
802.11/bg but they are very expensive ($80 - $125 US)
