Changeover from dialup to Road Runner problems.

Just as it it written, this information is worth a web page just to help 
people like me.
I went to System--Administration --Networking and disabled my dial up 
modem and enabled the Ethernet connection.  Now all I have to do is 
enter the information that is needed.  I believe I do have the correct 
IP address but  that's as far as I'm able to go.
Will have to study all the 'help'  aids  before going any further but I 
may need more assistance.
