problem with ubuntu installattion

hai ,

i am vibin, i have a problem with ubuntu installation. iam using
a pc with pentium 4 processor. but the chipset (via) is not supporting
the installation. system hangs when booting. but it gives a booting
screen and start the ubunt window manager then hangs. how can i install
the cd.is there any way to directly install from the cd without running
live linux.
