You shouldn't have too many problems. You will need to do some tweaking, however.
My advice: find out which broadcom card you have (they come in different models, and the steps you need to
take to get your wifi working will differ based on the model you have).
1280X800 is definitely possible on the Intel 915 chipset. (AIGLX/Compiz works like a charm, also).

has anyone some experience with running Linux on HP nx7400?
wifi: - Broadcom 802.11b/g
graphicsa: Intel GMA 950 224MB
chipset: Intel i945GM Express
Will be there any problem with WXGA 1280 x 800 LCD?
