Because up to now, I always found privoxy to be *WAY* to complicated to
use, especially in comparison with Adblock+. Anything that requires more
work as Adblock+ is just annoyingly complicated. For instance, I doubt
that there's a one-click way to disable the use of privoxy, without having
to use yet another tool. Or am I wrong? The adblocker should work in
Firefox - other browsers are nice, but in no way whatsoever required.
Further, I found that privoxy always blocked *WAY* *TOO* *MUCH* for my
taste. Sure, I could tune the configuriation, but I was told in this
thread, that privoxy "just works", whereas I found, that privoxy "just
works after a huge amount of work".
