Dapper install CD won't run on my AMD64 (was: Lots of Dapper Problems)

I do have a SATA drive, but it worked perfectly with Breezy.  I can
boot into the installer, it just can't seem to get past the initial
splash screen where services are started and into the GNOME
environment.
