"wizard", ITYM, unless Rincewind is actually helping you code.

Maybe you could post a bit more about the error you get and how you
get to that point. Otherwise, Eclipse works on Linux too, and there's
a few other development environments like Kdevelop and the pure
"Emacs/VIm, gcc, gdb, man/info" solution. I've found this one makes a
great environment to program in.
