Okay. What happens when you disconnect the printer from your pc? (My
guess is that the printer prints oon his own the integrated
test-pages).

I only use (K)Ubuntu on my Laptop, the server-version does not fit for
me (I'll choose debian etch), so I can't help you with the
web-administration.

On the laptop I created a local printer with the kde
control-panel. Perhaps you could try this too. There was a discussion
about kde and gnome regarding UI-design and that gnome often hides
very important settings in the interface.
