Upgrading to Edgy Eft

Inspired by our discussion I installed Edgy in vmware-player two days
ago. I had read that sudo is currently broken, but worked for me.
However, it didn't boot with the new 2.6.17 kernel (couldn't mount /),
but 2.16.15 did. There are of course several dependency conflicts, but
nothing serious. Otherwise I haven't played with it since my machine is
too weak for vmware.
