Well perhaps the best thing for you to try is to actually run the
command and login/out. Then you can see for yourself:
sudo fontconfig-voodoo -s zh_CN --force
This is reversible, to return to your previous configuration simply
replace the "zh_CN" with your locale (in my case en_GB) and re-run the
command. I am interested in what you find out, please keep me posted.
