Why is OpenOffice slow?

I've windows XP and ubuntu dapper installed on the same laptop and
unfortunately open office is much faster on windows than on linux.
What we could do is either make open office run faster on linux or make
some patch for open office windows version to make it run slower on
windows so we can stop windows users from teasing us :D
