I recommend rebooting and choosing the memory test option on the grub
screen. (You may have to be quick on your fingers -- the default is to
show that screen only about three seconds.)

It may or may not be your memory -- but memory is easier to test and
replace than some other things it could be. If you think your system
is overheating (for example if one of the fans is clogged with dust or
has stopped turning) then any number of things could be flaky, but of
course you need to correct the cooling problem first.
