syncing my palm pda with ubuntu

I do not use J-Pilot myself, but I assume it all boils down to
specifying the device (either /dev/ttyUSB0 or /dev/ttyUSB1; you'll have
to experiment) somewhere in the settings.  And you have to press the
HotSync button on the cradle/cable, then wait a couple of seconds before
you initiate syncing with the software.  And you may have to remove the
pilot applet from the panel so it doesn't interfere with J-Pilot.
