Mailing list howto

Hi everyone,

I want to learn how to set up a mailserver with several mailing lists.
 I have a domain somedomain.org.uk and I want to run the server at
lists.somedomain.org.uk.  I'm aware of a few mailserver howtos for
Breezy but I need a hand on the DNS side of things.  How can I create
the subdomain lists.somedomain.org.uk and make a particular server the
mailserver for that domain?  Also, can I just open port 25 on a
computer on my network or is it more difficult than that?

Any pointers to online howtos would be appreciated - I have a lot of
learning to do!
