You can run mathematica in you linux box. However I think you have to
pay for it. There is also maple (which I think is better). Also you
have to pay, but usually for students it is cheaper. In universe or
multiverse, I don know, there is an ancient program, xmaxima, which is
good, but is out to date. Worth a try, IMO. Search also for reduce,
which is also out to date. Now, for the real trial I recommend that you
ask in your school board maple for linux (called xmaple), they you get
for you in a nice price.
