For batch processing image files, you need imagemagick - does most things 
you need, and lots of things you don't need :)

PS: 

Please, when you reply, can you include the original post! Your replies 
often don't make any sense because we  don't know what you are replying 
to.

Don't forget that this goes into an archive and somebody might want to 
read it in a year's time.
