This is bug #325907 in Debian. We can either add tetex-bin to
lilypond-data's dependencies, which would be a Policy violation, or we
could sidestep the issue and kludge as the bug report suggests.
As an aside, while these bug reports are appreciated, are you also
filing them on Malone?
