HP Pavilion zd8000

I would like to switch my laptop to linux, no windoze whatsoever. Already
running K12LTSP on a server and have 32 thin clients connecting to it at a
lab in the school where I teach.
Want my laptop to be totally linux too.
I understand edubuntu has the terminal server built in like k12ltsp does.
Does it do the setup for you, like the fedora version does? I ask that
question for when I go to upgrade the server in the summer, but am planning
to do my laptop in a month
Does anyone know whether the pavilion zd8000 has been tested with
ubuntu/edubuntu/kubuntu yet?
Does the hardware work? I know I could use ndiswrapper to get the broadcom
wireless going. How about dvd burning? Sound? And the 14400x900 resolution
my laptop does?
Answers greatly appreciated
