bootable disk for Mac Mini

If it's not booting with the c key held down then the CD isn't burned properly.

Also, if you're really stuck for trouble shooting, try inserting the
OS X installer CD into the drive and hold down the c key. If it boots
and the Ubuntu one doesn't see below about burning the ISO to disk. If
it doesn't boot either (but OS X installer CD does if you select it
from the startup system preferences pane) then you either have a
faulty keyboard (unlikely) or are holding down the c key at the wrong
point in the boot sequence (you should hold it down from the time you
hear the gong to when the Mac mini has "latched" on to the CD and
starts booting from it).

You must burn the ISO to the whole disk and not to disk as a file
(i.e. if you insert the CD into your Mac while Mac OS X is running you
should see a whole bunch of files on the CD and not just one single
ISO).

PS You shouldn't see the Ubuntu CD in the Preferences Pane. It's not a
recognised installer disk so it won't show up.
