I would say the first thing you need to do is setup a Linux terminal server such as Edubuntu that uses the LTSP (Linux Terminal Server Project) implementation.   You would probably want to change the wallpaper in a corporate environment.  The Edubuntu server as implement provides a full Linux Terminal Server including DHCP and PXE boot such that any etherboot type client can boot from the Edubuntu server.  Edubuntu doesn't need the Citrix ICA client or Microsoft's Remote Desktop Protocol or licensing to use and authentication is via SSH so it is very secure.

The K12LTSP.org project also offers a full LTSP server running currently on Fedora Core 4 which might be more appropriate to an SMB implementation.

Or you can just go to LTSP.Org and roll your own terminal server...
