laptop screen hosed except with X and nvidia driver

I managed to to find a fix my self. I'll state it here incase it ever
happens to anyone else, they can search the archives.
I took the laptop apart, and pulled the video card, and then
reassembled everything, and got things to work again. A PITA solution
to a strange problem.
