OT: lost my cd/dvd drives

I hate to tell you to look at your bios but it's where you should start.
 Check to see if the bios is showing both your cd and dvd drives.  They
should be listed separately.  If not, you likely have to set one as
master and one as slave.  Read this for more info:

You should also see them listed on the screen when you boot.
