[Dapper]Kubuntu connection sharing prbm [SOLVED...?]

Just encountered another difference between Breezy & Dapper:  Dapper requires 
reboot b-4 the connection sharing works.  Hm.  Thought that phenomenon was 
nearly a 'Doze exclusive.
