WEP encryption does not work

Hi ! Thanks for your so-fast reply.
Following your advice... Yes Ive tried this as well.
The result is the same : it is connected to my network
essid- because when I enter iwconfig, network type &
essid appear... but the modem does not allow any IP
(dhcp failed). Signal is thus very bad (-1%) while the
modem is located 30cm to the modem :-)
I was entering my wep key in the gnome wlan config
window, and tried also gtkwifi and always got the same
result.
I have to disable WEP to be connected with my wlan.
