That is dependant on the driver.
some are ethX, some are athX, some are wlanX... it's perfectly fine as eth1.

It's pretty hard to troubleshoot wireless, without seeing a lot of
output from various utillities unfortunately, so If you could check
the wiki[1], if you haven't already, and see if your cards have any
known issues. And then head on over to the troubleshooting guide[2]
for a more detailed approach.
