cron is for jobs that youewant to start regulary (like every day or
every week). For a job you just want to start once there's at. It's
usage is quite easy:

diesch at vogon:~% at 7:00 tomorrow
warning: commands will be executed using /bin/sh
at> play ~/sound/alarm.mp3
<Ctrl-D>


If you wan't a GUI there's gnome-schedule
