Nvidia: need advise: FX 5500 or GF 6200 ?

Hello,

I am having to make a decision to buy either an FX 5500 or GF 6200, as
circumstances dictate.

I would welcome input from people who know better than me about 3D
cards:

Is there any noticeable difference in performance between the two ? I
am hardly a gamer, but I like to fly X-Plane every now and then, so if I
can have a better scenery, if just a little, I am all for it.

Obviously the most important factor is also how these cards behave in
Ubuntu, are there any problem with either of them, that would make it a
bad choice/no go, like screen corruption ? Open GL programs
crashing ? Random system freezes or any lovely such things ?
