Sounds (no pun intended ;-), like you burned a DATA CD, not an AUDIO CD.
If you want to make an audio CD, and assuming you are using Gnome not
KDE, just use "Serpentine", it's installed by default and has the only
purpose of, precisely, create Audio CD's !
It's super easy to use.
