Xubuntu and WiFi Madness (version 6.10)

I had a problem with my Toshiba. The answer in my case was two connections.
1. eth0  cable,  had a static ip

2. eth1  wifi    DHCP

My router/wifi box did not like the static ip address, I set the cable to
DHCP and wizzo they both worked.
