I opened my eyes and saw that the file 'ports.conf' was in the cups
folder. So I modified the file in sudo gedit by # Listen localhost:631
followed by Listen *:631 and saved the file.
then sudo (if needed) /etc/init.d/cupsys restart.
The windows printer that I had previously set up was then able to print
via the wireless network.
