digikam won't let me delete files - "could not rename file ..."

I was able to solve the problems by following this tip in KDE's bug
tracking system for digicam:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123120

I guess KDE programs expect to find the trash in ~/Desktop/Trash while
Ubuntu has the trash in ~/.Trash.
