Thanks for your comments. I realise that Gimp itself does not actually
do the printing but would expect settings, set using Gimp, would
influence the printing process. I also understand that Turboprint uses
the same printing software as Gimp. The mystery is that printing through
Turboprint is successful through Gimp it is not.
