Changes in Gimp.

I'm no expert on this but I might be able to point you in the right
direction.

If the version of Gimp on your old machine was installed a while ago it
probably got installed with the old gimp-print package. That sounds like
it worked fine for you. But reasonable recently the gimp-print setup/
name/ package has changed from whatever it was to something called
glutenprint. Don't ask me what the difference is, but do remember that
Gimp does not handle printing. The printing is handled by a quite
separate package (which lots of other apps also use). So see if you can
find out where the differences are there.

The gimp discussion list is quite good if I remember rightly.

Good luck, and thanks for bothering to try and fix this yourself before
asking for help, it's surprising how many people don't do that.
