Well, alright:
Edit -> Preferences -> Main -> Startup
When Firefox Start [Show my home page]

It should actually be the very first thing that you see when you open
Preferences.

If you have the Tab Mix extension it also has a seperate session
restore function. So, disable that (if relevant).
