As described by Vincent, did you change power management settings option
"Power off when battery is critical" to "Never"?
I am on edgy and today had the same problem. My Fujitsu siements laptop
booted down while I turned it on in battery mode. This just occured
today. I never faced this problem with dapper or edgy before.
