You can run KDE apps under Ubuntu...so why turn people away from this list?
FWIW, I subscribe to both the Kubuntu and Ubuntu lists but both get funnelled
into the same IMAP folder. Personally, I don't see a big distinction
(especially seeing as KDE and Gnome can share the same spelling configuration
via Aspell etc).
