The part I find interesting in Automatix is not the time saved, but the
avoidment of the annoying moment of searching and installing packages
one by one (sure there is some automatic dependencies selection but
still) . For the first time you install a system it may be interesting
to do it "manually" but when you're used to it , it's just an annoying
moment.

You're pointing the fact that it still has to download the stuff. You
can do something else during this time , right? but when it's up to you
to make the research, you have to stay and wait for each download to
finish and then make another research, look the documentation of the
restricted Format and download again other stuff.

I can't find Automatix worthless. It's a very big win of time to use it.
