inetd is not installed by default on Ubuntu, but the config file is
there.
If you look at inetd.conf you will see all the service that inetd can
handle. They are probably mostly commented out by default. To enable
them you would install the inetutils-inetd package and then edit the
conf file to enable the services you want.
Just a word of caution. Do not enable any services unless you really
need them if you want to keep your machine as secure as possible.
