HP Printer installation

For the sake of starting a whole other thread on the same topic, I
thought I would tag along for the ride.  Hope that is okay.



I am trying to set up a HP Deskjet 3910 printer to be used in Ubuntu. 
THis prionter is currently setup and installed on a Win XP maching.  I
have a Cable modem that is also atteached to a D-Link Router.  I have
been able print through the router before when I had this pc set up on
Windows but since Ubuntu, I have not.  Can this be done or will I need
to connect directly from this machine that is using Ubuntu?
