Hi Brian!

OK, try this:

1. Select System > Administration > Printing. After some time the
"Printers" window will pop up.

2. Select your printer and then from the drop down menus select Edit >
Properties. After some time a Your-Printer Properties (mine is called
"Deskjet-600-600C Properties") menu will pop up.

3. In the tabs of that window select Connection. On mine I have the
"Printer Type (Button) Local Printer" selected and the "(Button) Use
another printer by specifying a port:" selected. In the "Printer Port
(List Select)" I have selected "LPT #1".

My setup is simply the HP Deskjet connected to the computer through a
printer cable to the printer port. If I recall, I needed to
specifically select the "LPT #1" to make this work. Note the "Print a
Test Page" button at the bottom of the tab page, If your print is
successful then close all the silly printer setup windows and know
that when using word processors or browsers etc... you will need to
make sure you specifically select the printer you have enabled as part
of your printing process (some like to make ps files or pdf(s) or
...).

Good Hunting!

Tod
