Slow performance Samba

In my experience that's pretty much par for the course. It's not SMB
that's slow, it's that NFS is so fast - data on NFS is designed to be
instantly there and always available. If you get a full 10M on NFS you
are probably running it over udp which has almost no overhead compared
to tcp.

Bottom line is, I reckon 5M is about as good as you will get from smb.
Butg I could be wrong and if so, I'd also like to know how to improve
it :-)
