dapper boot problem

Hi, exactly the same happened to my (K)ubuntu Dapper Desktop.
about two times of five it happend to freeze at "loading
hardware drivers" and I had to restart the PC.

In my case the problem magically disappeared after I changed from
i386 to i686 Kernel. I do not know if this was the reason, but
it never happened again, since then.
