Asus W3J and ata problems

Hi!

I've installed kubuntu 6.06 with no big problems on the laptop.

Nevertheless I'm facing some 'annoying' issues that do not allow me to work
with the system. I'm refering to constant freezings.
/var/log/messages, says: "*ata2 is slow to respond, please be patient*"

This issue is really boring.
I've tried to load the system with the rescue kernel version and the same
happens. I know that the hardware is functioning properly (at least in
Windows).

Is there any suggestion to solve this issue ?!


There are other things to solve, like sound, but this is not prioritary. And
I suppose I will solve the sound problem with the instructions posted on:

By the way I've read that current ACPI implementations work with DSDT files.
But I can't find on http://acpi.sourceforge.net/dsdt/view.php the DSDT for
the Asus W3J. I only find Asus W3V and W3A.
Is W3J DSDT compatible with the DSDT for W3V or W3A ?!

Has anyone installed kubuntu succefully on W3J with no problems ?
