Dual boot-linspire

I purchased a pc off of ebay the other day and it had linspire. I wasn't
planning to use it but thought what the heck, maybe I'd fool with it at
some point. When I went to install ubuntu I thought I recalled an option
to create a dual boot. 

I did not see it so I'm thinking that it checks for windows type
operating sytems and only give you that option when that is true.
Correct?
