As another data point, I got a DNS problem as well, at about the same
time, and I have installed nothing except the latest updates.
I use network-manager, and all of a sudden it refuses to set the DNS
when connecting. Looking in the logs I get:
"NetworkManager: <information>^IDHCP returned name servers but system
has disabled dynamic modification!"
If I add the nameserver DHCP found into /etc/resolv.conf manually,
things work (until I change location again of course).
This machine has been working flawlessly up until Friday morning (that's
when I first got bitten by this); I changed nothing at all, so I do
suspect something the last update did is the cause for this.
