Synaptic problem - "The package jedit needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it"

Oh, I only got your message now. So it seems we both got to the same
conclusion. I'm a little surprised noone on this list had this problem
before - or perhaps the people who know the answers didn't have the time to
write back.
