Using Ubuntu absolves the user of personal responsibility?

Actually it was meant as a self-identifying insult.  I deliberately used
the style but not the words of someone and allowed that person to see
himself in them and respond.  I was not disappointed.

I believe I first heard this technique used in the context of something
that went like "I cast a general garment and my worthy claims it a
tailored fit".
